Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was the Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix discovered early that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her initial attempt, she was second in the 200 meters race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. The youngest to win the 200-meter race at the World Championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, defeating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
